COVID - 19 Letter to families

Dear South Summit Pediatric Families,

We are open and seeing patientsIt is safe to receive your care here. We are taking precautions to keep you and our facility safe. Starting March 23rd, we will offer TeleMedicine appointments for Medication Checks related to patients having anxiety, depression, ADD, ADHD, and sleep disorders. The following insurances: BCBS, IHC, Cigna, Aetna, Humana, Health Choice, IHC Medicaid, Traditional Medicaid, UHC, University of Utah Health, Healthy U, DMBA, EMI Health, and Health EZ have authorized these visits.  However, normal copay, coinsurance, and deductibles still apply. Please contact the clinic for further information.

We currently are NOT accepting walk-in patients. Please call us at 801-553-8300, so we can properly screen the patient to provide the most appropriate care.

Our clinic is requesting that Well Child Checks be scheduled prior to 2 pm and any Sick Visits be scheduled after 2 pm.

If your child has a cough, fever, trouble breathing, AND has been exposed to someone with coronavirus or has recently traveled (within 14 days of symptom onset) to China, South Korea, Iran, Italy, Japan, Seattle, New York, Florida, or California, please contact 1-888-374-8824 or 1-800-456-7707.

If your child has a cough or fever, but has not had exposure to the coronavirus, please make an appointment so we can rule out other causes.

We recommend follow all guidelines that have been issued, such as avoiding large group of people, people that are sick and people who have recently travelled. Wash your hands often, cover your cough in your elbow, and do not touch your face. Please also help us keep the number of people in our waiting area at a minimum by having only one parent accompany the child to be seen, if at all possible.

You can find more information at https://coronavirus.utah.gov/ or healtychildren.org. There is a temporary information line at 1-844-422-5224.

Healthychildren.org has advice about how to talk with your children about COVID-19 and how to deal with school and childcare closures.

We are here for you, please do not hesitate to call us for any questions or concerns.
